Transport Minister Ahmet Arslan realized the VIP opening of the maritime industry’s biggest meeting.
With Boat Show, CNR Eurasia opened the gates of Atakoy Marina Mega Yacht Harbor.
VIP opening of Atakoy Marina Mega Yacht Harbor-with the feature of becoming the first mega yacht harbor of Turkey was carried out with the participation of Transportation Maritime and Communication Minister Ahmet Arslan at the International Maritime Vehicles, Equipment and Accessories Fair (CNR Eurasia Boat Show Sea Fair) which is the biggest maritime meeting of Turkish maritime industry.
Suheyl Demirtas, General Manager of Atakoy Marina and Yacht Operations A.S. stated that Atakoy Marina Mega Yacht Harbor was carried out with an investment of 62 million dollars, and said “We are providing the first Mega Yacht Harbor to Turkey with the capacity to host 232 mega yachts from 25 meters to 100 meters long.”
CNR Holding General Coordinator Cem Senel said, “At our fair CNR Eurasia Boat Show at the sea, we display nearly 100 new and used yachts, mega yachts, boats and sailboats starting at 5 thousand Turkish Liras and extending to millions of Turkish Liras. We have boats that fit every budget, as well as jet ski, flyboard and all the accessories and equipment belonging to the sector.”
VIP launch of Atakoy Marina Mega Yacht Harbor, which is the first mega yacht marina in Turkey has been performed with the International Maritime Vehicles, Equipment and Accessories Fair (CNR Eurasia Boat Show Marine Fair) which is the maritime industry’s biggest meeting in Turkey. Atakoy Marina will be open to all visitors at mega yacht harbor on 3-7 May at the CNR Avrasya Boat Show at the sea and Atakoy Marina Mega Yacht Harbor’s VIP opening have been launched by Transportation Maritime and Communications Minister Ahmet Arslan. CNR Holding Chairman Ceyda Erem and VIP Chairman of DATI Yatırım Holding Vice Chairman and Executive Chairman Gokhan Kiran hosted the opening ceremony; Suheyl Demirtas, General Manager of Atakoy Marina and Yacht Operations Inc., Alpaslan Sirkecioglu, Chairman of Marine Industries and Maritime Development Association (DENTUR), Metin Kalkavan, Chairman of IMEAK Chamber of Shipping, and Cem Senel, CNR Holding General Coordinator have attended the organization.
“We bring a real mega-yacht marina in Turkey”
Atakoy Marina and Yacht Operations Inc. General Manager Suheyl Demirtas said in his opening speech that: “We are proud to bring a world-class facility to the maritime sector in Turkey. Atakoy Marina Mega Yacht Harbor project was carried out with an investment of approximately 62 million dollars, by DATI Investment Holding Inc., which is one of the most important players of Istanbul Tourism Center.
I especially would like to emphasize that; every marina where one or more large yachts can get in and out with difficulty is not a mega yacht marina. In order for a marina to be denominated by this title, it should have sufficient depth, and the ability to provide service at the same time for at least 12 units of mega yachts of 40 meters and above. There is no mega yacht marina in Turkey in this sizes and features. With the facility we have opened today, we have the first Mega Yacht Harbor in Turkey with a capacity to host 232 mega yachts from 25 meters to 100 meters inlength a real Mega Yacht Harbor which is the first of its kind. With the Mega Yacht Harbor, many custom-built and elite boats will now be able to stop by in Istanbul. With the harbor, while these private boats are getting the opportunity to stay in Istanbul during winter, they also can do all kinds of maintenance and repair works here.”
It will be a point of attraction for domestic and foreign tourists.
Demirtas emphasized that Atakoy Marina Mega Yacht Harbor will make a big contribution also to the tourism sector. It will make an important contribution to gain a significant income in the yacht tourism sector -which is one of the most monetized tourism types- in which Turkey is one of the top ten countries in the world in terms of number of tourists but can not even reach 10% of its potential and besides, it will be an attraction point for domestic and foreign tourists with world famous hotels, shops, restaurants and performance center of renowned brands to be located within the Istanbul Tourism Center which is under construction right next to the Atakoy Mega Yacht Harbor.
Boats for every budget.
Cem Senel, General Coordinator of CNR Holding, mentioned the importance of the fair and the marina in terms of maritime sector, and said: “At our fair CNR Eurasia Boat Show on the sea, we display nearly 100 new and used yachts, mega yachts, boats and sailboats starting at 5 thousand Turkish Liras and extending to millions of Turkish Liras. We have boats that fit every budget, as well as jet ski, flyboard and all the accessories and equipment belonging to the sector. At the CNR Eurasia Boat Show we will welcome VIP visitors from many countries including Bulgaria, Russia, England, Spain, France, Greece, Iran and Italy. This year we aim to host 50,000 local and foreign visitors.”
“We organize Boat Show fairs three times a year”
Cem Senel pointed out that the maritime sector in Turkey has grown 10 times since 2003, as CNR Holding, he stated that they intend to support the Turkish maritime industry in the framework of 2023 vision of Turkey. Senel said, “We organize Boat Show fairs three times a year, on land in February and May and at the sea in May and September. Every year we bring together tens of thousands of boat and yacht enthusiasts at the CNR Eurasia Boat Show organized both on land and at the sea. Our fairs, which are the center of attraction for sea lovers, also make great contributions to the development of amateur maritime sector. The CNR Eurasia Boat Show, one of the world’s largest fairs, as well as providing commercial contribution to the maritime sector, it also stands out as a platform in which regulations and requests related to the sector are expressed.”
